Position Overview
We are seeking a Market Manager for our Sandbridge & Virginia Beach market location for the 2025 summer season (April 15 – October 15). This temporary position requires a highly flexible, fast paced, organized and adaptable individual who thrives in a guest & client facing-focused environment. While this role is seasonal, it could transition into a full-time opportunity as Sojourn continues to grow in this market and markets nearby.
The market manager will be responsible for inspecting rental units before guest check-ins, ensuring they meet our high standards, and occasionally assisting with guest arrivals. This role demands extreme flexibility, as work hours vary daily and may include weekends, holidays, early mornings, and late nights.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Hospitality
- Serve as an on-the-ground representative for Sojourn, ensuring all guests receive a warm and seamless check-in experience.
- Handle guest inquiries or concerns with professionalism, patience, and problem-solving skills.
- Communicate efficiently with the Sojourn team using all Sojourn required technology tools, regarding any guest needs, property issues, or last-minute changes.
Unit Inspections & Readiness
- Perform detailed inspections and perform hands on fixes, of units before check-ins to ensure cleanliness, functionality, and aesthetic readiness.
- Verify that amenities are stocked, linens are fresh, and all property details match guest expectations.
- Document and report any maintenance or housekeeping issues promptly to the operations team and coordinate their repairs.
- Reset units as needed, including minor staging, minor maintenance, and tidying to maintain a polished appearance.
Operational Support
- Be available for sporadic, non-traditional hours, including both long and short workdays, weekends, weeknights, and evening hour check ins.
- Coordinate with cleaning and maintenance teams to address last-minute fixes or adjustments, having a real sense of urgency to address guest needs.
- Assist with small operational tasks as needed to maintain smooth daily property management.
- Use Sojourn’s software tools (Guesty, Boom, Slack, and internal systems) to track assignments and report issues.
- Weekly organization or storage & inventory as well as organizing all supplies for cleaners.
- Willingness to respond to guest after hours if needed.
- The ability to think as a problem solver and idea developer on running a remote market like Sandbridge.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality, short-term rentals, or hotel operations preferred.
- Knowledge of property maintenance and housekeeping standards is a plus.
- Familiarity with Guesty, Buildium, or similar property management software is helpful but not required.
Compensation & Work Schedule
- Competitive hourly pay based on experience.
- Hours vary and may include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be available throughout the full summer season (April 15 – October 15).
