Overview
Sojourner House mission is offering compassionate, faith-based recovery services to women and their children.
This position coordinates the Recovery Support component of a ?women with children? residential program and oversight for seeing that there is sufficient coverage 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Trains and monitors staff performance; orders facility supplies, and makes suggestions for program and facility improvement. The Clinical Support Managers provides primary oversight of direct-care employees, maintenance of residential apartments and common areas. Responsible for medication monitoring and training of direct care staff. Maintaining inventory of all operating supplies and orders as necessary. Provides oversight for van maintenance, and transportation requests to include: escorting, child care coordination, and scheduling residential appointments/calls. Functions as a Recovery Support Specialist when the schedule requires. The work involves meeting quality assurance standards, licensing, credentialing and regulatory compliance, and achieving program and client outcome goals as applicable to women experiencing problems related to substance abuse, life skills, and parenting.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Ensures by action, direction and oversight that program services operate in accordance to program design
and treatment philosophy.
? Provides oversight and supervision of Recovery Support Specialists and Program
Assistant.
? May provide direct services or intervene in cases when necessary. Provides back up
during staff absence and or operate as the lead manager when for both clinical
and direct care staff in the absence of the Sr. Clinical Manager.
? Provides necessary trainings for staff, outsources where appropriate.
? Collaborate with Sr. Clinical Supervisor to gather program information.
Responsible for monitoring the workplace environment for the cleanliness and safety of all parties.
? Promptly appraises the Director of Programs and Administration of any damage to the
premises which may result from the negligence, abuse or misuse of any residents or their
children of the equipment, fixtures or systems within Sojourner House.
? Collaborate with the Finance and Operations Department with securing estimates from
reputable contractors as to the cost required to repair any damage(s).
? Coordinates the management of repair and maintenance services
? Initiates requests to purchase needed equipment and supplies.
? Oversees resident and volunteer facility maintenance efforts as requested
? Ensures facility maintenance and safety compliance by monitoring that the facility and
grounds are maintained according to agency standards.
Participates in the hiring process, recommending personnel actions, and actively ensuring there are
adequate levels of staffing while following established agency policies, practices and procedures.
? Assist H.R. in interviews and makes hiring recommendations to the Director or Human
Resources and Director of Programs and Administration to fill direct care vacancies
in a timely manner.
? Completes personnel evaluations of directly reporting staff in a timely manner.
? Processes all personnel matters and employment issues in accordance with agency
policy, practices and procedures.
? Provides oversight of medication management to meet the standards set by PA Dept. of
Health, as indicated in PA State regulations, section 709.32
? Oversees pharmacy and urine collection schedule
? Ensure that medication training for all staff is conducted by the Medication Officer (will
also provide training if needed)
? Provides monthly reports to Executive Director
? Provides monthly written reports on Transportation, escorting and coordination of
childcare services
Responsible for establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with representatives from
community supports and resources, and ensures reporting standards and requirements are met.
? Establishes positive working relationships with community supports and resources.
? Instructs staff in appropriate professional response to referral agents; mediates and
resolves conflicts between staff and referral sources and keeps the Sr. Clinical Manager
apprised of the same.
? Assists the Volunteer Coordinator by recommending or initiating relationships for
targeted support services needed on behalf of participants and implements annual
Community Partners meetings so that they occur on schedule
Responsible for day-to-day supervision, training of direct care staff and development activities to meet
agency, program and regulatory guidelines.
? Orients new employees to procedures and practices and the program?s treatment
philosophies and approaches.
? Provides direct supervision, training and development on both an individual and group
basis, as per agreed-to schedule.
? Ensures that staff receives training in compliance with regulations and in-house
standards.
Responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day program operations occur in accordance with applicable
licensing, regulatory and/or credentialing compliance.
? Keeps current about licensing, regulatory and credentialing base of the program;
effectively instructs staff on these matters.
? In consultation with the Sr. Clinical Manager develops and implements monitoring
procedures to ensure ongoing licensing, regulatory, and/or credentialing compliance and
helps to prepare reports and to prepare and implement corrective plans of action.
Develops performance appraisals, and maintains security of training, student and volunteer files.
? Writes performance appraisals for directly supervised staff and reviews with the
Human Resources Director in accordance with program policies, procedures and
practices.
? Ensures security of training and volunteer files in accordance with program policies,
procedures and practices.
Participates in periodic review of operations.
? Attend supervision and management team meetings.
? Implement program changes in a planned and positive manner.
Assists in the budgeting process and adhering to program budget/expenditure practices, policies and
procedures
? Makes suggestions for expenditures to maintain facility, to train, and to enhance
programming and when authorized, conforms to budget.
? Process all expenditure reports with appropriate signatures.
Provides flexible program services to meet Sojourner House schedule requirements.
? Participating in the on-call procedures so is available by company issued device as per
the schedule.
? Works at least 8 non-traditional hours a quarter.
Participates in special projects or other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions: Ability to work the hours necessary to complete the work. Mandatory overtime may be
required. Schedule may require working evenings and weekends as needed. Must attend and participate in
scheduled staff meetings and in-service training.
Position is situated in a community-based residential facility treating addicted women and their children. Requires
visits to high-risk neighborhoods and environments. Exposure to clients with substance abuse, mental illness,
communicable diseases and physical aggressive altercations is highly likely.
Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments and to endure exposure to clients with substance abuse,
mental illness, communicable diseases and physically aggressive behaviors.
Must complete a minimum of 12 hours of continued training each year, including 4 hours total of Tuberculosis,
Sexually Transmitted Diseases and other health related topics plus 6 hours of HIV/Aids within the first two years
and CPR & First Aid training within the first year of employment.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry a 35-pound child. The physical demands described are
representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this

functions. A limited amount of walking and standing may be necessary in carrying out duties.
