We are looking for someone who loves operations, gets excited about problem solving with various cross functional teams, and is passionate about building relationships.
The position will be reporting to the Senior Quality Assurance Manager. The Quality Engineer is a highly collaborative position that will support the on-boarding and auditing of new and existing vendors. The position will be responsible for identifying any risks prior to going into production with a supplier. The Quality Engineer will also support new launches, product development risk assessments, and support on quality investigations.
The Quality Engineer plays a crucial role in upholding Sol de Janeiro's reputation, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence by ensuring our company and product requirements are clearly defined and upheld. This position will work in close partnership with our manufacturing vendors. The position is intended for a motivated professional with an understanding of cosmetics cGMP, auditing, root cause analysis, and risk mitigation who can shine with little supervision. They will support vendor audits, technical readiness and continuous improvement efforts.
Overall responsibilities :
- Strengthen and lead SDJ vendor quality management program
- Facilitate risk assessments for potential new vendors
- Asses the quality management systems and ability to meet or exceed SDJ requirements of potential new vendors
- Maintain a Quality scorecard for our vendors
- Support technical readiness and successful production handover for new launches.
- Perform quality audits of suppliers, contract manufacturers, and distribution centers.
- Maintain audit calendar and frequency based on supplier risk level
- Support the positive development of existing vendors through continuous improvement of process and performance
- Manage quality continuous improvement initiatives cross-functionally.
- Collaborate to develop, improve, and deploy Quality processes and procedures.
- Create work instructions or training materials as needed to ensure processes are clear and consistent.
- Support quality assurance of pre-production line trials for new product launches to ensure technical risk mitigation.
- Act as Quality representative for system enhancement projects as needed
- Perform all other duties as required.

Salary Range
90,000-$100,000 USD
In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
