Civil Engineer Manager P.E
Currently searching for a Civil Engineer Manager P.E. to direct and oversee multiple concurrent engineering projects while ensuring success in meeting the respective objectives. Responsibilities include plan, manage, and design civil improvements, supervise the construction of projects, and monitor the quality of work including site safety. Oversee timely completion of deliverables such as public works infrastructure projects to include streets, roadways, wastewater distribution, storm drainage and site design. The Civil Engineer Manager P.E. will lead the civil engineering team.
The Civil Engineer Manager P.E. should have 10 years of experience working in engineering as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a P.E. license. Ability to effectively delegate the work, have excellent problem-solving skills and able to address any issues that come up.
Responsibilities
- Assign tasks to engineers
- Gauge progress of various projects
- Communicate effectively with customers
- Collaborate with the sales team to create new products
- Propose budgets for various projects
- Create reports to give updates on projects
- Attend trade shows and conferences
- Train new employees
- Lead and align engineering team with the company’s vision
- Manage P&L for the engineering team
- Prioritize and delegate tasks to the team
- Develop, inspire, mentor, and evaluate the engineering team
- Create positive team culture (e.g. curious, mutually challenging, collaborative)
- Collaborate with cross-functional peers and leaders to deliver projects
- Improve engineering quality and efficiency (e.g. improve workflow, etc.)
- Hire qualified candidates to strengthen company and team
- Lead and align engineering team with the company’s vision
- Implement best practices for development and design
- Drive technical roadmap and direction
- Provide technical guidance and coaching
- Prepare technical requirements and design specifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
- Great analytical and math skills
- Incredible problem-solving abilities
- Ability to collaborate with many other teams
- Ability to create a set of qualifications and plan for a new service
- MBA or Master's in engineering preferred
- Must have a P.E. license
