Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our dynamic Urgent Care team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, providing exceptional support to both patients and healthcare professionals. This position requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in medical office software, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and manage check-in/check-out processes efficiently.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar using Allscripts PM software.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including coding for insurance claims and medical collections.
- Assist in the preparation of care plans and documentation for patient visits.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information regarding services offered.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations in all patient interactions and documentation.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate effective communication within the clinic.
- Perform general office duties such as filing, typing, and managing correspondence.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in Allscripts PM software is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical coding practices and familiarity with medical collections processes is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA guidelines.
