Job Summary
Sol Stone Center is dedicated to providing an evidence-based, client-centered, trauma-informed eating disorder treatment program in a safe, supportive environment.
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of those struggling with an eating disorder? We're looking for a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Counselor to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual therapy to clients
- Provide group therapy (group psychotherapy, CBT, DBT skills training)
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans
- Discharge planning
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care
- Conduct assessments (biopsychosocial/risk)
- Provide crisis intervention
- Complete required documentation
- Participate in weekly supervision
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
- Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related mental health field, and be eligible for New York State Licensure.
- Experience with the eating disorder population is preferred, but not required.
- Strong understanding of therapeutic techniques and interventions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and empathetic approach
