What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Summer Intern position at Sol Systems?
Sol Systems is seeking an Engineering Intern to help support the Engineering team this summer. The role will help the utility scale solar and battery storage engineering team to fulfill its core mission by maintaining databases of drawings, documents, calculations, and technical specifications. The candidate will have a summer-long project to organize and consolidate various file registries to make it more efficient and easier to access the critical information we need. There will be a special project to evaluate various alternative design strategies for solar PV and Battery Storage projects, led by a project engineer, but supported by the Engineer Intern.

The Engineering Intern Will Be Responsible For
- Managing engineering documentation (drawings, calculations, and other documents).
- Organizing technical specification document revision
- Preliminary layout and energy modeling with software
- Undergraduate rising junior or senior in a STEM related field, including but not limited to Engineering
- Proficient with file management, data analysis with Microsoft Excel, document revision, and editing with Microsoft Word
- Familiar with renewable energy, but no significant expertise is necessary
- Experience with CAD, GIS, or web-based land estimation tools is a plus
