The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of physical tasks to support the successful execution of construction projects. Duties include preparing job sites, transporting materials, assisting skilled tradespeople, and operating tools and equipment. A strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and professionalism is essential in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Preparation: Clear construction sites by removing debris and potential hazards.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and move construction materials to designated areas.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate a variety of hand and power tools (e.g., saws, drills, jackhammers).
- Assisting Tradespeople: Provide on-site support to carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and other skilled workers.
- Temporary Structures: Assemble and disassemble scaffolding, barricades, and other temporary site installations.
- Digging and Trenching: Perform earthwork including digging trenches, backfilling, and compacting soil.
- Workspace Organization: Keep vehicles, tools, and job sites clean and orderly.
- Warehouse Support: Assist with pre-assembly of project components as needed.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and industry regulations to ensure a secure work environment.
- Company Representation: Act as a brand ambassador by representing Sol-Up with integrity, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
- Mix and pour concrete.
- Apply caulking and sealants.
- Perform site cleanup during and after project completion.
- Maintain and perform basic repairs on tools and equipment.
- Assist with basic electrical and plumbing installations.
- Control traffic flow near job sites when necessary.
- Carry out other assigned tasks as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or relevant certifications preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in the construction industry.
- OSHA 30 certification required.
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal communication skills with a team-oriented mindset.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Comfortable working at heights and in varying environmental conditions.
- Ability to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, confined spaces, and elevated areas).
- Must be physically capable of climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted, and performing work on rooftops.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, kneel, and stretch for prolonged periods.
- Must be able to maintain focus and composure in fast-paced, high-pressure environments to meet project deadlines.
