The Role

We are seeking an experienced Solar Installation Field Supervisor with a strong background in both residential and commercial solar projects. As the leader of our installation teams, you will play a critical role in fostering a positive, safe, and productive work environment. Your leadership will ensure that all team members adhere to safety protocols, company standards, and best practices for a seamless experience on-site.

In this key role, you will oversee daily workflow operations, manage the efficiency of installations, and maintain high-quality standards across all projects. The Solar Installation Field Supervisor will also be responsible for providing daily progress reports to the operations team, ensuring smooth communication and alignment across all departments.

This position is essential to maintaining the high standards of performance, safety, and customer satisfaction that Sol-Up is known for.

Primary Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to :

  • Ensuring on-site safety for all personnel and compliance with safety standards.
  • Overseeing and maintaining quality control throughout the installation process.
  • Managing and coordinating solar installation crews to ensure project efficiency and adherence to timelines.
  • Overseeing workflow management, ensuring tasks are completed in a timely and organized manner.
  • Ordering materials and ensuring timely delivery to meet project needs.
  • Maintaining inventory control, tracking materials and supplies to avoid shortages or delays.
  • Assisting with project scheduling and timeline management.
  • Conducting site surveys for both commercial and residential projects as needed.
  • Recruiting and training new team members as required.
  • Reviewing and interpreting site plans for accuracy and feasibility.
  • Providing on-site training to team members as needed to ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Conducting regular service and maintenance as required.
  • Performing inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and safety standards.
  • Completing other duties as assigned or required.

Skills & Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of solar energy systems and their components.
  • Strong personnel and resource management capabilities.

  • Proficient in coordination, time management, and multitasking.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, with a focus on complex issues.
  • Expertise in budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and diagnosing technical issues.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience in operation monitoring and quality control analysis.
  • Familiarity with construction tools, technology, and industry best practices.
  • Solid understanding of AHJ (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) and utility requirements.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools specific to electrical work.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Passion for renewable energy and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Understanding of wire and conduit sizing, including adjustments for environmental factors.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screening.
  • Clean driving record with a valid state driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Comfortable working at heights and on rooftops with proper safety equipment.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to contribute positively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

    • Physical Requirements

    Candidates must be able to :

  • Work in extreme environments, including but not limited to exposure to heat, direct sunlight, crawl spaces, and rooftops.
  • Climb ladders, stairs, and work on rooftops or remain on feet for extended periods of time as required
  • Lift or carry up to 50 pounds unassisted to perform various tasks.
  • Access all areas of the office and work environment, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external clients and contacts.
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, stretch, bend, and kneel for extended periods as necessary.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Perform duties both indoors and outdoors, with potential exposure to environmental factors such as heat, cold, noise, dust, and fragrances.

    Experience :

    Solar installation : 5 years (Required)

    License / Certification :

    Driver's License

    OSHA 30

    CPR (preferred)

    Forklift

    Valid state or local Electrical Journeyman certification or license preferred.
