What are the responsibilities and job description for the HVAC Service Technician – Level 2 position at Solace Enterprises, Inc.?
Solace Enterprises is a rapidly growing, family-first, full-service commercial mechanical contractor operating throughout Northern California. We are looking for experienced technicians to join our Service department.
Technicians will conduct maintenance and repairs on heating and air conditioning systems according to company standards providing the customer with a high-quality experience. Complete diagnostic and repair of units 1-20 tons, boilers, and familiarity with basic automated controls systems and variable air volume boxed systems (VAV).
Functions and Responsibilities:
- Arrive at the jobsite at scheduled time and location as dispatched.
- Relocate from one jobsite to another jobsite as dispatched during the workday.
- Report to dispatcher when arriving and leaving jobsite.
- Operate company vehicle as needed.
- Follow instructions from supervisor and/or dispatcher and carry out in a timely manner.
- Report problems with equipment to Service Dispatcher to expedite parts delivery.
- Communicate with customers and collect C.O.D. on calls as directed.
- Ability to work staggered schedule if required.
- Always maintain professional appearance and attitude
- Complete all service-related forms properly
- Provide all customers with new / renewal maintenance agreement program information.
- Inform and educate customers about residential planned maintenance agreements.
- Inform and educate customers on additional products or services available through company.
- Inform customer of replacement options following company guidelines
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of electrical refrigeration principles.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of service tools and testing devices.
- Demonstrate braising and soldering skills.
- Demonstrate customer service skills.
- Perform filter changes utilizing filter checklist paperwork unassisted.
- Demonstrate skills to perform planned maintenance on commercial systems utilizing maintenance checklist.
- Demonstrated ability to program thermostats
- Demonstrated ability to clean Indoor and Outdoor coils
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose failed compressors, fan motors, and other major components
- Demonstrated ability to clean Blowers and Burners
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Possession of all necessary technician tools appropriate for this level.
- Demonstrate willingness to invest time in service training seminars and classes.
- Work from various ladders
- EPA certification
- At least 2-years experience maintaining and repairing commercial HVAC systems
- Ability to operate power and hand tools safely.
- Insurable driving record
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions as given.
- Demonstrate commitment to developing customer service skills.
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
Desired Qualifications:
- HVAC Tech School Certificate and/or College Degree.
- Experience with multi-circuit commercial HVAC equipment.
- High School Diploma.
- EPA Certified.
- Basic familiarity with automated controls systems.
