JOB DESCRIPTION :
Solano Community College is seeking a pool of qualified applicants for possible temporary part-time teaching assignments in Data Science. In general, we may have a need for adjunct instructors during any semester including summer. The start months are August, January, and June in each year. These positions are filled on an as-needed basis and are on-going recruitments. Assignments may include day, evening, and weekend courses. The district may cancel classes or change instructors as enrollment needs are determined.
We are actively looking for the following specialties :
- Statistical Programming in R
- Machine Learning with Python
- Deep Learning with Python
Paid office hours are available to adjunct faculty in fall and spring semesters who teach a 40% assignment or more.

Responsibilities
Teaching duties include :
ENGR 014 : Statistical Programming in R for Scientists and Engineers. Lecture and lab assignments will be expected.
ENGR 010 : Machine Learning with Python for Scientists and Engineers. Lecture and lab assignments will be expected.
ENGR 011 : Deep Learning with Python for Scientists and Engineers. Lecture and lab assignments will be expected.
Provide instruction in accordance with established course outlines and expectations; create and follow a course syllabus; inform students about course requirements; prepare and grade assignments and examinations in a timely manner; meet administrative timelines and submit completed and required documents and reports; maintain required student attendance and scholastic records; and perform assessment of student learning outcomes.
Teaching assignments may include evening hours and off-campus instruction, in accordance with collage policies.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's in any field of engineering
Bachelor's in any field of engineering AND Master's in mathematics, physics, computer science, chemistry, or geology
Master's in computer science or computer engineering
OR Bachelor's in either of the above AND Master's in mathematics, cybernetics, business administration, accounting or engineering
Bachelor's in engineering AND Master's in cybernetics, engineering, mathematics, or business administration
Bachelor's in mathematics AND Master's in cybernetics, engineering, mathematics, or business administration
Bachelor's degree in any of the above AND master's degree in information science, computer information systems, or information systems
the equivalent
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS :
Experience in teaching and using the statistical language "R" in data science, as well as a working knowledge of Machine Learning and Deep Learning in the Python language.
