The Procurement Specialist is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that the materials or components meet quality standards and are delivered on time. This role involves working closely with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to support production and operational goals.
A successful candidate must be able to:
Research and identify potential suppliers for required materials or components.
Evaluate supplier capabilities, quality systems, and financial stability.
Conduct on-site audits and assessments of supplier facilities.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to ensure favorable conditions.
Develop long-term supplier agreements to secure stable supply and cost savings.
Manage and resolve any contract disputes or issues.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.
Collaborate with suppliers to develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Work with suppliers to ensure materials or components meet specified quality standards.
Address and resolve any quality issues or non-conformances.
Develop and implement supplier quality improvement plans.
Identify and implement cost-reduction opportunities within the supply chain.
Analyze cost structures and market trends to support strategic sourcing decisions.
Track and report on cost savings achieved through sourcing activities.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to understand material requirements and specifications.
Provide technical support and expertise to resolve supply chain issues.
Participate in cross-functional project teams to support new product development and process improvements.
