What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Solar Energy Technician position at Solar Gain?
We're seeking a professional and experienced technician to support the objectives of the Service & Quality Department by working independently, going from one client site to another for both residential and commercial client solar energy systems, primarily focusing on 3-phase configurations.
Responsibilities include maintaining, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and responding to RMAs for broken or faulty solar PV system components.
This requires advanced knowledge of a range of corrective, preventative, and emergency maintenance tasks. Testing procedures may include I-V curve tracing, ground fault testing, fall-of-potential testing, megger testing, transformer turn testing, string testing, infrared (IR) connection testing, voltage and amperage testing, communication signal testing, torque testing, and basic system commissioning.
Must have a clean driving record (no DUI's in the past 5 years) and pass a background screening that includes a 7-year criminal history and pre-employment instant drug test.
