About The Role
We are seeking a Strategy Director to support Solar Landscape’s executive leadership in driving strategic initiatives and building operational excellence. This multifaceted position requires a strategic thinker, problem solver, and effective communicator who excels at getting things done, and working collaboratively across teams. This role is ideal for a professional with a background in operational / process improvement, performance optimization, particularly in capital-intensive industries like energy, infrastructure, or construction.
As a Strategy Director, you will report to Solar Landscape’s Chief Strategy Officer to support decision-making processes, optimize our internal operations, and ensure that strategic initiatives align with Solar Landscape’s growth objectives. This role will require frequent collaboration with leaders across Business Development, Finance, Technology, Policy, Marketing, Subscriber, and Operations departments. The Strategy Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of our company, our industry, and the clean energy landscape.
We are headquartered in Asbury Park, NJ with an office in New York, NY and are looking for the Strategy Director to be in the NY / NJ metro area. We would like the Strategy Director to come to either our NY or NJ office 3-4 days a week.

Responsibilities
- Strategic Initiative Management: Design, manage, and execute strategic initiatives that align with Solar Landscape’s core goals, including market expansion, revenue growth, and operational efficiency improvements.
- Process Optimization: Analyze and improve key processes across project origination, development, engineering, operations to reduce cycle times and increase project throughput. Develop standardized workflows, templates, and best practices to scale execution.
- Business Operations: Lead efforts to optimize internal processes and workflows, ensuring seamless cross-functional collaboration, effective communication, and resource allocation.
- Project Management: Oversee key projects from inception to completion, working with various teams to ensure timely delivery, alignment with strategic goals, and effective utilization of resources.
- Performance Management & KPIs: Establish and track operational KPIs to measure project velocity, cycle time reductions, and bottlenecks. Conduct root cause analysis to identify recurring issues and develop scalable solutions. Work closely with leadership to ensure operational goals align with broader business objectives.
- Financial & Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth analyses of market trends, competitive landscape, and industry developments to support informed decision-making.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Manage relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external; prepare and deliver executive-level presentations.
- Cross-department Collaboration: Serve as a point of contact for strategy-related queries and initiatives, facilitating clear communication and collaboration between executive leadership and department heads.
- Special Projects: Take ownership of special projects as identified by the Chief Strategy Officer, ensuring timely and high-quality execution.
- At least 4 years of experience in consulting or similar strategic role, with a strong track record of problem-solving, strategic thinking, and project management.
- Excellent analytical abilities, with the capacity to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.
- Background in process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Agile) preferred
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Proven leadership skills, including the ability to lead cross-functional teams and efforts.
- Previous experience working in clean energy would be a plus but is not required.
- Adaptability and a proactive approach to change, combined with a willingness to take ownership of challenges and drive solutions.
- Strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and get things done.
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
