We are looking for a Solar Construction Supervisor who will be responsible for ensuring the Safety, Quality, Efficiency, and Customer Experience of the residential solar installation projects completed by the field installation crews. In addition, the Solar Construction Manager is responsible for organizing, motivating, managing, and training the crews in the field daily.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and oversee all aspects of solar construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Organize and optimize crew structure and work schedule for the highest productivity.
- Conduct pre-construction project reviews to determine the resource requirements of the project.
- Complete on-site Solar Edge, SunPower and Tesla technical support for inverter replacements, RVAR contract work orders, INQs and RMA compliance
- Support field troubleshooting and diagnosis of electrical and PV systems and resolve all issues.
- Assist with any pre and post battery construction meetings (commissioning, training, grid-outage simulations)
- Perform regular site visits for on-site safety, electrical, technical and QC training.
- Conduct quality control and safety inspections providing feedback to the field staff, the Design Department, and the Operations Manager
- Quickly and accurately handle required administrative duties, including but not limited to training documentation, inspection documentation, project completion documentation, field purchase orders, and timecard data entry and auditing.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, change orders, and other relevant records.
- Provide weekly reports and status updates on field related tasks.
- Collaborate with other departments, including engineering, procurement, and operations, to ensure that projects are completed successfully.
Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 5 years of Electrical/Solar experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory/leadership role
- 3 years of Solar Installation/troubleshooting experience.
- Must be able to read and interpret solar and electrical blueprints.
- Ability to commission solar and battery systems for Enphase, SolarEdge and Tesla
- Technical skills in checking all the sub-contractors and installers, and implementing QC inspection.
- Electrical Certification or C 10 License highly desirable
- NABCEP certification is a big plus.
- OSHA 30 Certification.
- Proficiency in construction management software.
- Knowledge of the NEC and applicable codes and standards.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, procurement including scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Must possess a strong work ethic and be able to lead by example.
- Valid driver license with a clean driving record.
- Must not be afraid of heights.
- Capable of carrying 50 lbs.
- Able to set up ladder and climb 2 stories.
