What are the responsibilities and job description for the Solar Engineer position at Solar Optimum?
Design electrical and structural plans for permitting and commissioning at multiple AHJ's.
Assess and confirm system design, including but not limited to array layout, wire runs and interconnection method.
Submit drawings for customer review and approval.
Identify and diligently resolve design issues.
Track and manage numerous projects by coordinating with multiple jurisdictions to meet requirements.
Assist with final review of system designs to ensure a high level of accuracy and completion.
Provide technical direction and customer support during installation, start-up, testing, system commissioning, and performance monitoring when necessary.
Research building codes and plan implementation of new system design requirements.
Qualifications :
Previous solar design and electrical experience highly is a MUST.
BS degree in ME or EE or related discipline preferred
Knowledge of photovoltaic systems, NEC requirements, construction practices
Tesla / energy storage experience is a MUST.
Good knowledge in AutoCAD
NABCEP certification preferred
Strong coordination, problem-solving, documentation and data entry skills.
Extremely detail oriented with strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
