Job Title: Tasting Room Manager
Location: 702 Parkway Suite B Employment Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week) Compensation: $20-$26/hour
Position Summary:
Solar Spirits, LLC is seeking a dynamic and experienced Tasting Room Manager to oversee the operations of its distillery’s new tasting room. The ideal candidate will be passionate about craft spirits and hospitality, possess strong leadership skills, and be capable of creating a welcoming and engaging guest experience. Responsibilities will include managing daily operations, inventory, club memberships, supply ordering, vendor relations and billing, staff supervision and training, event coordination, and marketing efforts. The position will require hands-on involvement, including working one shift bartending per week while maintaining a full 40-hour work week in compliance with WA state employment laws.
This position includes a 60-day probationary period to ensure alignment with company expectations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations & Management:
- Maintain and improve opening and closing procedures to streamline daily operations.
- Create and implement order limits for food and liquor inventory, adjusting based on sales trends.
- Develop an order guide for cocktail service, including a par ordering system.
- Manage and maintain vendor relationships, including vendor meetings and price negotiations for liquor and food.
- Develop and revise the New Hire Packet, ensuring all onboarding materials are up to date.
- Input food and cocktail menu items into the **TOAST Point of Sale (POS) system, and maintain cost tracking with software **
- Ensure accurate and timely record-keeping within TOAST for sales, inventory, and performance tracking.
Bar & Service Duties:
- Work one bartending shift per week while overseeing overall operations.
- Create and manage the cocktail menu, ensuring a balance between creativity, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency.
- Monitor and control food and pour costs, ensuring profitability while maintaining quality.
- Ensure proper handling of bank deposits, including night drops for bartenders, implementing a possible maximum cash drawer limit.
- Oversee the pickup of necessary materials and supplies when needed before scheduled ordering days.
Staff Management & Scheduling:
- Hire, train, and manage tasting room staff, ensuring a high standard of service and professionalism.
- Create and manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts and events.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback for team members.
- Handle disciplinary actions, including termination, if necessary, in accordance with company policies.
Spirits Club Development & Management:
- Design and implement a Spirits Club membership program, creating structured benefits and incentives for members.
- Maintain and grow Spirits Club membership, fostering engagement and brand loyalty.
- Oversee the execution of member-exclusive events, tastings, and special promotions.
- Ensure all Spirits Club sales and perks are accurately recorded within TOAST and other tracking systems.
Customer Experience & Marketing:
- Plan and execute events that align with brand goals and customer interests.
- Develop and implement social media content strategies to promote the tasting room, events, and product offerings.
- Monitor and drive bottle sales, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Assist in marketing efforts, including promotions, partnerships, and brand storytelling.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in hospitality, bar management, or tasting room operations.
- Knowledge of craft spirits, cocktails, and food pairings preferred.
- Ability to change method and job duties as needs of the business change.
- Experience with POS systems (Toast preferred) and inventory management.
- Compliance with Company Policy Handbook
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Valid MAST and Food Handler’s Permit or ability to obtain one prior to employment.
