Job Purpose Candidate is expected to know, or learn as needed, enough about CAD-related people/processes/products AND about PLM and CAD tools to partner with business to properly solve problems and make improvements. These tools primarily include Promis-e (electrical CAD application from Bentley Systems) and PTC's Creo Parametric mechanical CAD application, using PTC's Windchill for PLM. Job Duties This typically does not include day-to-day production support (but often will), but rather deals with relationships, communications, data, methods/processes, conventions (promoting commonality!), improvements, etc. It requires an ability to troubleshoot tough issues, write a clear problem statement (which does NOT include solution(s)), understand and write requirements, and create optimal conceptual/solution designs which (as needed) can be used by developers in technical design & coding. Also requires significant project management, data management, and Windchill/Creo software user skills. Computer science or deep technical knowledge is useful but not required. Objective should always be solving problems and creating solutions while avoiding/minimizing/reducing complexity and/or customizations (Simplicity: The art of maximizing the amount of work not done!). Job Description Summary: This position provides business analysis and expertise within the ITS organization, working with IT technical staff and supported engineering and manufacturing groups, to enhance engineering/business success using various CAD technologies and publishing tools. Responsibilities include managing enterprise-wide engineering PLM/CAD data, supporting users on various CAD tools like Creo Parametric, Bentley’s Promis.e and/or ArborText publishing engine. Will provide technical expertise, work with various cross functional teams in adopting best practices and promoting commonality, in addition to leading and executing business process improvement projects related to evolving CAD technologies and content publishing software. Key deliverables include detailed documentation of business requirements (conceptual designs), delivering end-user training, and assisting as needed with support for Creo Parametric, Creo View, Promis.e, and/or ArborText Stylesheet creation. Background/Experience Degree in engineering or computer science field plus 2 years work experience, or 4-6 years work experience using Promis-e and/or Creo Parametric. Preferred: Promis-e, Creo Parametric, or Windchill support/training/administration experience. Strong computer science background or aptitude/interest. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline, or 3 years of engineering/CAD experience.
