Job Summary:
Reporting to the Vice President of Turbomachinery, the Supply Chain Director will be responsible for the direction of all aspects of Supply Chain execution for Packaging, Indirect Purchasing, Balance of Plant, Construction Services, Service Parts and WW Field Operations. This position sets the vision, provides leadership and clarity of the vision for the team, drives a passion for continuous improvement and velocity in support of Solar’s long-term vision.

What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities):
- Develop and execute plan for strategic growth
- Provide visible and engaged leadership in the areas of planning and execution to enable the team to meet supply chain objectives and commitments to internal customers.
- Effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice.
- Bring knowledge of processes and methods of inventory management; ability to effectively manage organization's materials, commodities, merchandises, or products.
- Develop and execute supplier alliance and long-term agreements with key suppliers that are identified as suppliers of material or components that are critical to Solar's business success. This includes developing new sources to fulfill the needs of new products that are entering the development and production cycle.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to improve profitability and lower the overall cost of purchased goods by partnering with suppliers, negotiating contracts and streamlining existing processes.
- Develop strategic sourcing partners in low-cost areas of the world and generate savings by pooling company procurement volumes to enhance the velocity and effectiveness of the supply chain to reduce lead-times.
- Develop and maintain deep, collaborative relationship with Supply Chain Director peer in Turbomachinery and peers in Manufacturing Operations, Engineering, and Customer Service value chains.
- Align on strategic priorities with Turbomachinery supply chain
- Champion service and responsiveness across organizations
- Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Expert level knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. Ability to resolve complex technical and commercial issues while maintaining the flow of material and services needed to support the business.
- Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. Ability to develop and execute sweeping sourcing strategies that support Solar's continued business growth.
- Lean 6 Sigma: Knowledge of Lean 6 Sigma is essential as well as an extensive understanding of manufacturing operations and processes.
- Proven Leadership Ability: Ability to lead and influence teams, leaders and partners in a matrixed environment.
- This role will be based in San Diego and follow a hybrid schedule (3 days/week onsite) with domestic and international travel up to 25%.
