Essential Functions
1. Perform typical laser cutting operations.
2. Select proper cutting programs, and proper fixtures.
3. Establish proper stop location, adjust laser beam focal point.
4. Make proper set-ups for cutting operations.
5. Perform prescribed maintenance as required.
6. Perform all dimensional inspections.
7. Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor.
8. May perform a variety of other tasks as production needs require
Nature and Scope
An employee in this position must be able to work with their peers as well as individually, and follow directions from Team Leads, Supervisors, and Managers. They must follow work instructions and processes, work according to part drawings, execute tasks, and assist higher level welders/fabricators. Employees in this position are expected to learn from higher level employees and must ask for help and/or instruction when unsure how handle a task.
They must have the ability to take coaching and feedback from Team Leads, Certified Welding Inspector, Supervisor, or respective Manager to continually improve performance, productivity and/or quality of completed product. They will work under the supervision of their leaders but must still be able to remain productive when not being directly watched.
Team Lead, Supervisor or respective Manager will decide required working hours and job priorities and the laser table operator must be able take input from engineers when approaching how to take on producing or fabricating a part.
Employee must be fully able to read, comply and understand procedures, and must be able to climb and work from ladders and scaffolds.
All Work is completed on a manufacturing shop floor, and an employee in this role must be able to recognize and avoid hazards and unsafe operation of equipment.
Equipment that may need to be operated to complete duties:
Brake Press- Fabrication equipment such as a saw or drill press
- Measurement tools and gauges for checking work
- Forklift or crane for moving materials, tools, and equipment
- Computer for completing production orders, recording work hours, and online training
- Other equipment that may be necessary for completion of work
Principal Accountabilities
Comply with all of Solar’s Environmental, Health and Safety Programs, Regulations and Guidelines, Policies, procedures, and best practices; use proper PPE, Smoke Eaters, etc.- Comply with Solar Turbines standards for structural elements.
- Clean parts well to ensure quality of work including the cutting and repairing of parts.
- Ensure that the proper procedures have been followed and quality has not been compromised.
- Take feedback on their work, and correct work that is not up to standard.
- Maintain a job log
Qualifications, Preferred Education, and Experience
- 1 year of manufacturing experience.
- 1 year of laser operator experience.
- Training in general safety, electrostatic discharge awareness, foreign object damage, awareness and quality system awareness.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Familiarity with shop floor procedures is strongly preferred
Summary Pay Range:
$45,809.00 - $68,713.00
