POSITION OBJECTIVE :
This position requires that the structural fitter accurately read and interpret Cut Sheets, Sketches, Engineering Drawings and other authorized documents both metric or standard units of measurement. Must be proficient in the fabrication and fitting of structural materials and assemblies of all sizes within protected and open areas.
NATURE AND SCOPE :
Perform setup incidental to structural fitting operations. Fabrication and fitting of all gauges and thickness of structural materials and assemblies where welded area may be subject to extreme stress and where care must be taken to prevent leaks and cracks. Preheat materials as may be necessary in order to minimize any warp of material by proper location of stress relieving methods. Perform surface preparations of materials such as cleaning, beveling, sanding and grinding of assembly parts. Qualified in fabrication of both Stainless Steel and Carbon Steel structural materials. Structural fabrication shall conform to Customer Specifications and ANSI / AWS D1.1 Code unless otherwise specified.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES :
1.Comply with all of TurboFab's Environmental, Health and Safety Programs, Regulations and Guidelines.
2.Must keep all areas clean and orderly; and comply with TurboFab's housekeeping procedures.
3.Ensure that the specifications have been followed and quality has not been compromised.
4.Must maintain production levels to shop standards and procedures.
5.Check own work for conformance to drawings.
6.Use all necessary equipment, tools and materials required to perform assigned work.
7.Train other less experienced Structural Fitters, as required.
KNOWLEDGE :
- This position is for well-experienced and fully competent and qualified Structural Fitters that have over 3 years of experience and require minimal supervision to perform the job.
- Must be able to climb and work from ladders and scaffolds.
- Must pass the required structural fitting qualification tests.
- Must exhibit the skills and willingness to perform assigned tasks in a fully competent manner.
Structural Fitter A
As a Structural Fitter, you will work in a team alongside the structural fabrication team to accurately frame structural weldments using engineering drawings.
