Accountable for the leadership, development and implementation of an assigned new growth opportunity that will result in the offering of a new strategic product or service, or portfolio of products & services to the market.

Responsibilities :

  • Activities related to the analysis of market opportunity, market and customer development, market introduction and initial development and production of the new product or service. This position plays a critical role in establishing the position of the new product / service in the market, including ensuring the acceptance internally and delivering on customer satisfaction.
  • This position includes introduction of the product / service to specific markets within a prescribed period of time while achieving identified cost targets and meeting established market requirements.
  • The grade level and reporting line is contingent upon the size, scope and complexity of the program.

Degree Requirement :

Engineering degree with MBA in business or finance is desired or equivalent experience.

  • Collaborates with stakeholders, development teams, testing teams, etc., to deliver business solutions.
  • Documents the business case to justify the requirements of time and resources of a project.
  • Utilizes diverse analysis tools and methodologies to group different business activities based on shared characteristics or similarities.
  • Business Acumen : Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Communicates key considerations for business decision making process.
  • Cites examples of types of information needed to make sound business decisions.

  • Business Markets : Knowledge of existing and planned markets and market-related initiatives from the perspectives of the competition, the suppliers, the customer base and the regulatory environment; ability to apply market knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

    Level Working Knowledge :

  • Deep knowledge of the Electric Power Generation Utility industry in North America with proven network of contacts within key players & influencers within this industry : Investor Owned Utilities, Municipal Utilities, Generation Co-operatives, Engineering firms, EPC contractors, market consultants, among others.
  • Recognizes key players and major competitors in a market.
  • Summarizes strategies related to key operating issues and key players within the market.
  • Researches characteristics of an assigned market and its segments.
  • Monitors regulatory and reporting environment within an assigned market.
  • Collects information relevant to business strategies and initiatives.
  • Alignment : Knowledge of the importance of collaboration among team members and the ability to enroll stakeholders in communicating and coordinating activities to support the organization's vision and strategies.

  • Assimilates information quickly and with a sense of how it applies to the vision.
  • Identifies inconsistencies or discrepancies between data and the vision it supports.

    Summary Pay Range :

    140,964.00 - $211,446.00

    Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
