Seeking energetic and dynamic General Manager for an Extended Stay Marriott Property in West Columbia, SC, 29169.
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under general direction, manages a hotel owned and/or operated by the Management Company in a manner that will maintain high standards of customer service and hospitality consistent with the policies and procedures of the company. To plan and control the on-going operations of the hotel under his/her supervision, in a manner which will yield a satisfactory level of profit. Develops schedule to assure management coverage at peak times and consistent staffing of property.
JOB DUTIES:
- Develops operating budgets for the hotel and submits to the Vice President of Operations. Operates hotel within an approved budget.
- Selects, hires, trains and motivates personnel to offer excellent customer service, and performs responsibilities to ensure the efficient operation of the hotel.
- Implements and ensures adherence to the Management Company's policies and procedures.
- Prepares and transmits accurate property reports in a timely manner.
- Submits capital expenditure recommendations to the Vice President of Operations on a timely basis.
- Implements sales and marketing programs which will maximize room occupancy and revenues.
- Complies with all applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations. Enforces procedures necessary for the protection of guests, guests' property and company assets.
- Implements preventive maintenance and quality control programs for the hotel under his/her management.
- Monitors local conditions and developments in the area in order to keep the Vice President informed concerning matters of importance to the management company.
- Recommends rate structure to the Vice President based on a competitive awareness of the local area.
- Maintains a high community profile to enhance the Management Company image in the immediate market area.
- Develops and implements property Safety/Security Program which will afford maximum protection of employees, guests and the hotel.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
Requires general knowledge of management principles: planning, organizing, motivating, controlling and evaluating results. Must have thorough knowledge of Management Company procedures and policies. Requires ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing. Requires ability to select, train employees and supervise through proper evaluation and discipline. Stays abreast of changes and trends in markets and competition. Requires ability to represent the company in a positive manner in community and public affairs.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
