What are the responsibilities and job description for the Breakfast Attendant position at Solara Hospitality?
BASIC FUNCTION :
Under general supervision, prepares the menu for guests following Solara Hospitality policies and procedures. Maintains the breakfast/lobby area in a clean and neat manner, and assists guests with breakfast/dinner service. Greets guests and answers questions to maintain high levels of service.
JOB DUTIES :
1. Provides courteous, friendly guest service by responding promptly and efficiently to
inquiries, requests, and complaints.
2. Sets up and maintains the Residence Inn Menu by preparing hot food items according to the brand training guidelines and follows the Daily Shift Checklist.
3. During breakfast serving hours, maintains serving areas by restocking as needed; cleans counters and tables as needed, prepares additional hot food items to keep up with demand. Pours coffee and greets/interacts with guests by engaging in conversation.
4. After serving hours, breaks down the serving line according to training guidelines (i.e.,
refrigerates items as necessary; washes all coffee pots; washes all equipment used
during breakfast according to sanitation guidelines; cleans all counters/tables; may
vacuum the carpet.)
5. Preps hot food items for next day according to forecasted demand
6. Completes the Usage Chart at the end of breakfast serving hours each day.
7. Conducts inventory of all food and service items in order to maintain proper serving
levels; may place an order with vendors for routine items with the supervisor’s approval.
8. Completes special weekly cleaning duties: i.e., refrigerators, storage areas, cabinets,
proofer, convection oven, juice/soda machines, etc.
9. Monitor guests' satisfaction of the breakfast, and informs General Manager of special
comments made by guests.
10. Complies with hotel's safety/security rules and instructions in performing work efficiently while protecting self, fellow workers and the hotel.
11. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY :
Requires ability to take written and verbal direction in English and speak English clearly.
It requires the ability to communicate in a friendly manner with guests in order to create a warm, comfortable, relaxing environment. Requires knowledge of hotel accommodations, the community and breakfast hours. Requires the ability to conduct an accurate inventory of food items and calculate order levels.
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
EDUCATION: Requires knowledge, skill and mental ability equivalent to
completion of 2 years of high school.
EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in working with the public or food
service experience preferred, but not required.
PHYSICAL SKILLS: Requires ability to walk and stand during entire working
period of 5 - 6 hours; requires the ability to lift 20-30 pounds
intermittently during the work shift.

Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour
