Overview
Our client is a major U.S. Army organization currently in need of a full-time Social Media Coordinator. The ideal candidate will be passionate about digital marketing and social media trends, with a keen eye for creating engaging content. The candidate will also be responsible for researching, extracting and gathering information from across the organization to develop compelling content which increases awareness and drives engagement across multiple platforms. Responsibilities include curating and managing all published content. Developing and implementing social media campaigns. Monitoring, tracking, and reporting on various performance metrics. Collaborating with the Public Affairs team to ensure brand consistency. Staying up to date with the latest social media trends and best practices.
Duties
- Social Media Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies in collaboration with the Public Affairs Team to increase brand awareness, engagement, and follower growth across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, X, and other emerging channels.
- Content Development: Work closely with the design department in order to produce high-quality, engaging content using photos, videos, graphics, and copy that resonates with our target audience.
- Posting & Scheduling: Manage and maintain an editorial calendar, ensuring consistent and timely posting across all platforms.
- Platform Monitoring & Adaptation: Stay up to date with the latest trends, tools, algorithms, and best practices for each social media platform, and be able to adjust strategies as needed.
- Community Engagement: Actively engage with our online community including responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and friendly manner.
- Reporting & Analytics: Ability to track key performance metrics, generate reports, and provide insights to the Public Affairs Team to help optimize future campaigns.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- Must be a US citizen.
Skills
- Proven work experience as a Social Media Manager or similar role.
- Strong understanding of social media marketing strategies and techniques.
- Strong understanding of all major social media platforms.
- Understanding of web analytics and SEO best practices.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively on multiple projects.
- Ability to create compelling written/visual content.
- Exceptional written, verbal and proofreading skills.
- Excellent problem solving and networking skills.
- Strong work ethic.
- Attention to detail.
- Candidates who have completed courses at the Defense Information School (DINFOS) will be prioritized.
