Position Summary:
Provides nursing care within scope of practice to insure resident’s needs are met in accordance with standards of practice, physician orders, center policies and procedures, and state, federal and local guidelines. Currently licensed as an LPN. The Infection Preventionist is responsible for coordinating the implementation and updating of our established infection prevention and control policies and practices.

- Infection Preventionist Responsibilities
- The Infection Preventionist (or designee) shall coordinate the development and monitoring of our facility’s established infection prevention and control policies and practices.
- The Infection Preventionist shall report information related to compliance with our facility’s established infection prevention and control policies and practices to the Administrator and Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement Committee.
- The Infection Preventionist shall keep abreast of changes in infection prevention and control guidelines and regulations to ensure our facility’s protocols remain current and aid in preventing and controlling the spread of infections
- The Infection Preventionist will collect, analyze and provide infection and antibiotic usage data and trends to nursing staff and health care practitioners; consult on infection risk assessment and prevention control strategies; provide education and training; and implement evidenced-based infection prevention and control practices.

Education
Currently licensed as an LPN in this state. CPR Certified.
Experience
One year prior nursing experience preferred.
