*Job Summary*
The Home Health Billing Specialist is responsible for the timely and compliant billing of insurance carriers and Medicare for services provided. This role will ensure that all proper documentation is being sent in, in a timely manner, to prevent any delays in insurance reimbusrements.
*Essential Functions*
- Collect all necessary information to prepare carrier/medicare claims.
- Ensure that all billing claims sent to carriers/medicaire are free of any errors.
- Process, collect, and manage Medicare account payments.
- Investigate any returned claims for issues, correct, and resubmit.
- Keep accurate and orderly records for all billing and accounts receivable activity.
- Identify and resolve any potentiall reimbursement issues, while ensuring effective problem resolution.
- Coordinate with leadership and compliance in any relevant process issues impacting effective billing, and seek resolutions.
- Frequent audits to ensure proper methods are being utilized.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Adheres to Standards of Conduct.
*Qualifications and Requirements:*
- two years experience in Home Health billing is preferred.
- Medicare Experience
- Possession of a valid driver's license and auto insurance.
- Strong observation, verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving abilities, basic math proficiency, and nursing competencies as per checklist.
