Role Overview:
The Accounting Supervisor is a crucial member of the accounting department and will be expected to lead our accounts payable and accounts receivable team while developing and implementing process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the workflow in the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee daily AP/AR operations, set performance goals, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency
- Close Financial Periods: Execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
- Prepare Financial Entries: Handle journal entries, invoice approvals, and account reconciliations with precision to support accurate financial reporting
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local financial and tax reporting regulations
- Vendor and Team Collaboration: Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely payment processing and work with internal teams to resolve discrepancies
- Invoice Processing in SAP: Review and code invoices in SAP, ensuring correct entries to avoid overpayments and manage cash flow effectively
- Mentor Finance Team: Provide guidance and training to junior staff to develop their technical skills and leadership capabilities
- Support Audits and Controls: Collaborate with external auditors and implement strong internal controls to uphold financial accuracy and integrity
What We’re Looking For:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in operational accounting (A/P & AR), preferably in the manufacturing sector
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles, paired with advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and MS Excel
- A proactive problem solver with meticulous attention to detail who thrives in a fast-paced environment
The listed range reflects the base salary Solaris Paper reasonably expect to pay for this position and is not a reflection of the highest and lowest base salary of any Solaris employee. Actual base salary will be based on factors such as the candidate's prior relevant experience education skills and knowledge. The anticipated annual salary range denotes only the pay range of the base salary and does not include discretionary bonus compensation, which may make up an important portion of the total remuneration.
