About the Role:
The Senior Accountant is responsible to maintain accurate accounting records, publish financial statements applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and by utilizing appropriate accounting controls, and executing best practices in accounting operating and accounting systems procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconcile US TBU income statements to legal entity basis financial statements to comply with bank loan covenants
- Reconcile intercompany sales and COGS for legal entity reporting and correct errors, if any
- Generate eliminating entries for the purpose of publishing consolidated financial statements for Solaris Paper Inc.
- Reconcile operating expense GL details to SAP financial statements
- Reconcile plant production reports to SAP trial balance and report discrepancies to cost accountants
- Perform loan covenant calculations for Solaris and Mercury on a quarterly basis
- Publish monthly, quarterly and annual state apportionment reports for Sales & Use Tax and Income Tax filing
- Publish monthly reports to HQ such as working capital report and inventory and fixed assets reports
- Review and maintain loan accounts transactions and reconcile interest expense and loan fees paid to bank versus agreed terms
- Generate the Intercompany Invoice List
- Generate the Weekly Sales Report
- Review PO settlements
- Account for employee sales by gathering information from IT, HR, and Customer Service
- Generate Payroll Accrual
- Generate reports and calculate accrual of sales commission and expenses.
- Enter Dispenser Amortization
- Perform ad hoc accounting tasks
Key Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in accounting with 4 years of relevant experience
- Advanced Excel skills with complete familiarity with pivot tables and lookup functions.
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning systems, especially SAP preferred.
- A quick learner with great attention to details, diligent, and well organized.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Manufacturing preferred
- Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
