The lead service tech will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of the maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, operation, and repair of renewable energy systems on our commercial and residential projects. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspect work sites to determine condition or necessary repairs.
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of solar panels on rooftops and on ground-mount systems.
- Perform repairs to existing solar energy systems.
- Help the service team with install of radiant heating systems, EV chargers, water heating systems, and pool heating systems as needed.
- Removal and replacement of existing solar energy arrays for re-roofs or to prepare for new
- Maintain project sites in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Must be willing to work some overtime hours to complete time sensitive jobs as required.
- Safely troubleshooting PV systems (legacy and current) and finding a fix.
- Clearly communicate with customers the issue and cost for repair and payment options.
- Data entry after work is completed.
- Inverter, battery, optimizer and micro inverter swaps.
- Communicating parts needed or return trips to supervisor.
- Keeping a clean and well stocked vehicle.
- Use of hand tools and power tools in the performance of job responsibillities.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Able to work at heights as well as access heights from a ladder.
- Know how to use hand tools and specific related tools associated with solar equipment repair.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver heavy objects.
- Can identify safety hazards on project sites and take corrective measures to eliminate or reduce risks associated with those hazards.
- Ability to communicate effectively both in written and oral communications with crew members, project managers, and more.
- Capable of taking constructive criticism and learning from mistakes.
- Work well with others.
- Solid computer skills.
- Must be well mannered and comfortable speaking with customers.
- Clean uniform and appearance.
- Must be self-motivated and keep on task
- Balancing workload and time allotted for each job.
