Job Description :
- Apply your knowledge of nursing theory, technical skills, and communication to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients and families.
- Assess patient needs, identify urgent or emergent care priorities, and collaboratively provide direct care using appropriate interventions to evaluate patient progress.
- Demonstrate skill in using various invasive and non-invasive procedures and therapeutic interventions appropriate for managing life-threatening and routine emergency situations.
- Utilize principles of relationship-based care to alleviate anxiety, provide information, and address pain, discomfort, and safety concerns.
- Connect with patients and families during triage, identify the initial management of patients across all age groups, and assign priority of care following established Triage Standards.
- Conduct primary assessments, detect deviations from the norm, and identify necessary interventions through observation, interviews, and data collection.
- Assess and document psychosocial needs, including any suspicion of domestic violence or abuse, and make appropriate referrals for post-emergency care.
- Encourage team cooperation to achieve the best possible patient outcomes and delegate tasks consistent with education, training, and the scope of practice.
- Prepare patients and families for diagnostic procedures and treatments, and provide education for continued care at home, including evaluating retention of education and discharge instructions.
- Maintain clear communication with patients and significant others, keeping them informed of care processes and patient conditions throughout the Emergency Department visit.
