SCHOOL OPERATIONS MANAGER

ROLE SUMMARY
The School Operations Manager (SOM) will report to the Director of Operations. The SOM will manage all non-instructional functions necessary to run a high-performing school. In order to be effective, SOMs must develop positive interpersonal relationships with the entire school community including staff, students, families, and visitors. Responsibilities vary from day to day and include managing finance and procurement, student data and reporting, nutrition program, facilities, recruitment and enrollment, student health and safety, and regulatory compliance. The SOM will also serve as manager for the operations team.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
Hires, manages, coaches, trains, and develops school operations team members
Ensures all district, state, federal, and authorizer compliance requirements are completed on time
Manages student recruitment and enrollment strategy
Manages all school information systems (SIS) including those for attendance and enrollment
Supports with data management and reporting to the CDE information system CALPADS
Conduct community outreach and engagement; Communicate respectfully and thoughtfully with parents / guardians remaining sensitive to different families’ cultures, values, and needs.
Work with the school leadership team to implement the school’s mission
Oversee all janitorial staff to ensure that the facility is well-maintained
Serve as on-site IT contact, including managing IT assets, assisting staff with IT issues as able
Coordinates supervision of students during arrival, breakfast, nutrition, lunch, and after-school
Manages school health and safety, prepares and submits incident reports
Serves as school safety designee, training staff and students on emergency procedures, scheduling drills, and assisting in emergency responses
Manages maintenance requests for the school facility, and ensures janitorial and pest control services are properly carried out
Manages the school calendar and coordinates logistics for school events and activities
Manages relationships with school vendors including RFP proposals, troubleshooting concerns, and ensuring all vendors meet the minimum requirements to perform school services.
Manages compliance with a school meal program, claim reimbursement, and vendor selection process
Point of contact for reporting staff outages; Requests subs and works with administrators to secure coverage school-wide
Performs or manages other functions as assigned
THE QUALIFICATIONS
Essential Skills :

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial management and human resources software
Excellent technical writing and organizational skills
Superior data management and reporting abilities

Bachelor's degree
4 years of school operations experience
2 years of experience managing others
Spanish Fluency

Compensation and Benefits
Compensation : Soleil provides competitive salaries, which are reviewed every three years. Based on relevant prior work experience, our salary range for this role is $66,560 - $86,845. Please click HERE for more information on our salary schedule.
