About The Job

This is an opportunity to be a key contributor in a rapidly growing committed capital software acquirer. You will play a key role in the company’s sourcing efforts by identifying new qualified vertical market software companies, improving our coverage in our existing vertical markets, connecting with software owners who are considering the sale of their business, and driving engagement with those companies over time. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Development, you will leverage your existing prospecting and sales skills in a new and challenging environment. Your origination efforts will directly result in Solen acquiring businesses each year. Responsibilities :

  • Identify, research, and evaluate promising software companies that align with Solen’s investment criteria.
  • Conduct outbound prospecting through a combination of channels, including email, phone, and industry events.
  • Build and nurture relationships with software business owners in your core verticals, driving daily engagement and fostering trust.
  • Collaborate proactively with the entire Solen team to achieve business goals and contribute innovative ideas to elevate our sourcing efforts.
  • Leverage Solen’s tools and resources to continuously enhance your effectiveness and efficiency in sourcing and relationship-building.
  • Track activities, maintain clear and detailed records in CRM and provide regular updates on key performance indicators (KPIs).

Qualifications for success :

  • 3 years experience in sales role with history of obtaining quote (M&A origination experience ideal)
  • Deeply curious about SaaS software and business, with a commitment to lifelong learning.
  • Thrives in a data-driven environment and uses metrics to guide and improve decision-making.
  • Consistently meets and strives to exceed agreed-upon KPIs and other critical performance metrics.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to foster engaging, two-way conversations.
  • Passionate about the sales process and contributes to enhancing Solen’s data-driven sourcing approach.
  • Combines a growth mindset with an entrepreneurial spirit and a drive to achieve success.
  • Continuously seeks self-improvement, remaining coachable and receptive to feedback.
  • A degree in Finance and / or experience in software sales or M&A are valuable assets.
