General Summary
As a Caregiver (CNA/PCA), you will assist residents with their daily living routines under the indirect supervision of a Nurse or Supervisor, following established procedures and guidelines.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities
- Perform Assisted Daily Living (ADL) duties to ensure residents’ cleanliness and comfort, such as transferring, mobility, bathing, changing briefs, peri-care, toileting, oral hygiene, grooming, dressing, and bed linen changes.
- Assist residents in attending appointments, meals, activities, and other scheduled events, including pushing wheelchairs, assisting with walkers, and monitoring schedules.
- Maintain accurate care records, shift summaries, and communications for co-workers to ensure continuity of care.
- Ability to regularly walk, stand, bend, stoop, or sit for extended periods.
- Capability to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects/individuals weighing more than 50 lbs.
- Focus on safety, detail, and accuracy for sustained periods.
- Annual flu vaccination is required, except for medical or religious exemptions.
- Dependable and reliable with excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions independently and in stressful situations.
- Compassionate and tactful when interacting with residents, family members, team members, and the general public.
- Genuine concern for the physical and emotional needs of older adults and their families.
