Responsibilities
- Independently perform a variety of X-Ray examinations, including but not limited to: chest, abdomen, extremities, and fluoroscopic procedures.
- Prepare patients for exams, explaining procedures and addressing any concerns.
- Operate and maintain X-Ray equipment.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process, including monitoring vital signs.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within the hospital's electronic medical record system.
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control guidelines.
- Demonstrate proper operation of PACS, HIS, and RIS computer systems.
- Participate in continuing education to enhance knowledge and skills.
- May be responsible for assigned areas to assume responsibilities of supervision or instruction to department personnel as determined by Manager or Director.
- Excellent communication skills in written, verbal, and through electronic platforms (e.g., Tiger Text) are required.
- Practices infection control in clinical practice in compliance with departmental and hospital policies and OSHA standards.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Completes annual mandatory education to include blood borne pathogens, infection control, and body substance isolation.
- Maintains department competencies as required.
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Valid Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist License.
- Prior experience with various X-Ray equipment preferred.
- Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient care skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
