Job Description :
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students who have a variety of disabilities and learning challenges. This teacher will be responsible for creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), providing direct instruction, and supporting students academic, social, and emotional development in an inclusive environment.
Responsibilities :
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities
Provide specialized instruction to students in both small group and one-on-one settings
Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet students' individual needs
Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other school professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support
Monitor and assess student progress, making necessary adjustments to instructional strategies
Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records and documentation as required by law
Participate in IEP meetings and provide input for student progress
Provide behavioral and emotional support to students and implement behavior intervention plans as needed
Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture where all students feel valued and supported
Stay current with best practices and legal requirements in special education
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field (Masters degree preferred)
Valid Ohio Department of Education Special Education Certification (mild / moderate or moderate / intensive)
Experience working with students with disabilities (Autism Spectrum Disorder, Emotional Disabilities, Learning Disabilities, etc.)
Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively with a team of educators, parents, and outside agencies
Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and safe learning environment
