Are you an experienced ASL interpreter looking for a full-time position? Soliant Education is hiring an Educational Sign Language Interpreter to work onsite at ahigh school. The position is 1:1 with a male freshman student who municates exclusively through American Sign Language (ASL). Cochlear implants are not effective for this student, so proficiency in ASL is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide full-time, onsite, 1:1 ASL interpretation for a male freshman student in a high school setting.
- Facilitate munication between the student and their peers, teachers, and other staff.
- Interpret classroom lectures, discussions, and other school activities in real-time.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and staff to ensure the student's academic success.
- Maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor at all times.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have EIPA score of 3.5 or RID certification.
- Must be licensed as an Educational Interpreter in the state of Indiana. (If not already certified through the state, the process is straightforward and should take a maximum of 2 weeks.)
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and able to interpret accurately and clearly in a variety of educational settings.
- Strong munication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of educators, students, and parents.
- Previous experience in educational settings is preferred but not required.
