Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process new and refill prescriptions, including insurance verification and patient eligibility confirmation.
- Handle third-party adjudications, insurance claim resolutions, and prior authorization requests.
- Investigate and troubleshoot insurance rejections while performing test claims as needed.
- Communicate with physician offices for prescription verifications and authorizations.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance regulations.
- Maintain detailed records of insurance claims, prescription processing, and prior authorizations.
- Provide high-quality customer service, assisting patients with inquiries regarding their prescriptions and insurance coverage.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Active Pharmacy Technician license in Virginia (VA).
- PTCB certification required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail, specialty, or mail-order pharmacy setting.
- Strong insurance claims processing and prior authorization experience.
- Proficiency in handling third-party billing, insurance rejections, and prescription adjudications.
- Excellent communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
