This position is initially temp but offers a strong potential for permanent placement and the possibility of transitioning to 100% remote work after business acumen training.
Job Title : Pharmacy Paralegal (Temp / Temp to Hire)
Location : Somerset, NJ (Confidential Facility)
Classification : Exempt
Status : Full-Time
Schedule : Monday Friday, Core Business Hours (40 hours per week)
Compensation Range : $80,000 $85,000 annually
Reporting to : Vice President
Key Responsibilities :
Collections Support : Draft demand letters, payment plans, and termination notices for customers with invoice payment issues. Escalate actions via legal channels when necessary.
Contract Support : Assist with drafting, reviewing, and ensuring compliance of contracts. Engage subject matter experts and work with legal team members to ensure adherence to policies, laws, and regulations.
Compliance Assistance : Ensure healthcare providers comply with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, Medicare, and Medicaid.
Legal Case Support : Prepare, gather, and review documents for discovery, subpoenas, or Requests for Information related to medical malpractice, insurance claims, and healthcare disputes.
Research : Conduct legal and factual research on healthcare laws, regulations, medical literature, and case law.
Communication Support : Collaborate with clients and other stakeholders to support legal cases and healthcare-related matters.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications :
Education : Bachelors degree in legal studies, healthcare administration, or a related field. Additional coursework or certification in healthcare law is preferred.
Experience : Healthcare experience is highly desirable, such as experience in pharmacy, nursing, or other healthcare fields.
Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), excellent organizational and communication skills, and attention to detail. Strong project / litigation management abilities.
Legal Knowledge : Solid understanding of healthcare laws, HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, and compliance with other governmental healthcare programs.
Preferred Specialized Training and Certifications :
Healthcare Law Courses : Additional coursework in healthcare law can be beneficial.
Professional Certification : Certification from recognized paralegal associations (e.g., Certified Paralegal (CP) or Advanced Certified Paralegal (ACP) in healthcare law) is a plus.
Technical Skills : Proficiency in legal research tools and standard office applications.
Knowledge Base : Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare documentation is a bonus.
Physical Demands and Work Environment :
Sit or stand for 7-10 hours a day.
Occasional need to climb, stoop, kneel, or carry up to 25 pounds.
