Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt and modify curriculum and instructional strategies.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods as necessary.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in both one-on-one and small group settings.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and strategies for support at home.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to assessments and evaluations.
- Create a positive classroom environment that encourages respect, inclusion, and engagement.
- Stay current with best practices in special education and participate in professional development opportunities.
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
- Valid California Teaching License in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with a variety of disabilities preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and support staff.
