Life Skills SPED Teacher - Elementary, Near Indianapolis, IN

Soliant is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Life Skills Special Education (SPED) teacher for a full-time role at a school district near Indianapolis, IN. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced educator to work with elementary students and provide specialized support in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Job Description :

Position Type : Full-time (32 hours / week)

Daily Hours : 8 : 40am 3 : 20pm

Caseload / Details :

Elementary students, K-4th grade

13 students total

Support provided with 3 instructional assistants

Location : School district near Indianapolis, IN

Start Date : Immediate

Licensure : Indiana State SPED licensure required

Responsibilities :

Plan and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) for students with life skills needs.

Provide direct instruction to students in areas such as functional academics, social skills, and daily living skills.

Work collaboratively with instructional assistants to support student needs and facilitate classroom activities.

Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.

Maintain communication with parents and staff regarding student progress and IEP goals.

Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other educators to develop and adjust student plans.

Qualifications :

Indiana State Special Education (SPED) licensure required.

Experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably in life skills or a similar setting.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Ability to work well in a collaborative environment with support staff and families.
