Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs.
- Provide specialized instruction in a resource classroom setting.
- Support students social-emotional development and address behavioral challenges.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to create inclusive learning environments.
- Utilize evidence-based practices to support students with ASD and language impairments.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed.
- Valid Connecticut teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with upper elementary students, particularly those with ASD and language impairments.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
- Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive educational environment.
