Position Overview :
We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team in Grand Haven, MI. This position provides an exciting opportunity to work with students in a school-based setting, helping them develop and refine essential skills for school and daily life. As part of a collaborative team, you'll provide therapy services to support students educational success and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities :
Assess & Develop Treatment Plans : Conduct evaluations and create individualized therapy plans tailored to student needs.
Provide Direct Therapy : Deliver one-on-one or group therapy sessions aimed at improving motor skills, sensory integration, and daily living tasks.
Collaboration : Work with teachers, parents, and school staff to integrate therapy into the school environment and ensure students success.
Monitor Progress : Track student progress and adjust therapy plans as needed to meet educational goals.
IEP Involvement : Participate in IEP meetings and document progress to ensure compliance with school requirements.
Provide Training : Assist teachers and families by offering guidance and recommendations to support students needs outside of therapy.
Qualifications :
For OT : A Masters degree in Occupational Therapy and a valid state license in Michigan.
For COTA : A degree in Occupational Therapy Assistance from an accredited program and state licensure in Michigan.
Previous experience in a school setting is preferred but not required.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
