Key Responsibilities
- Medication Dispensing: Assist in dispensing medications for patients with chronic and advanced disease states (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, MS, etc.).
- Patient Support: Provide exceptional support to patients, helping them understand their medication regimens, especially those with low literacy or complex needs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with pharmacists and the healthcare team to ensure accurate medication management.
- Software: Use Rx30 pharmacy software to assist with processing prescriptions and managing patient information.
- Experience:
- Strong background in retail pharmacy or specialty pharmacy, with experience assisting with chronic disease medications (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, MS).
- Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred.
- Patient Population: Experience working with Medicare/Medicaid populations, particularly low-income patients with complex medication needs.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and consultation skills for helping patients with complex regimens.
- Patience and empathy when interacting with patients, especially those with low literacy.
