This role involves picking up students in the mornings and dropping them off at their homes, with schedules depending on grade level. The typical work schedule includes morning shifts from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM and afternoon shifts from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with opportunities to work up to 8 hours a day during field trips.
To qualify for this position, candidates must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver's license. A New York State Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a P (Passenger) endorsement is preferred. Applicants must also have a clean driving record with no major traffic violations and must be able to pass a background check and drug test. Completion of a training program approved by the New York State Education Department is required, and the candidate must be willing to obtain a School Bus Driver Certificate from the New York State Education Department.
