The School Psychologist will provide specialized expertise and consultation in both psychology and education. The School Psychologist will play a key role in consultations, assessments, team problem-solving, and education, offering specialized expertise to ensure all students have the opportunity to succeed within the school setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments (FIE) to identify student needs and report findings to parents.
- Draft and develop applicable components of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) in collaboration with the educational team.
- Serve as a vital member of the Admission, Review, and Dismissal Committee (ARDC).
- Complete thorough assessments and write detailed reports to support student development and educational planning.
- Provide consultation and support to teachers, parents, and school staff on a variety of mental health and educational concerns.
- Implement evidence-based interventions and strategies to improve student outcomes.
- Collaborate with other educators and mental health professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) certification.
- Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology, Educational Psychology, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of psychological assessment tools and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators, parents, and mental health professionals.
- Experience in developing and implementing IEPs.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to special education.
