Position Overview
As a School Psychologist you will play a vital role in supporting the academic, emotional, and behavioral well-being of students. Your responsibilities will include conducting psychological assessments, providing counseling services, and collaborating with educators, families, and other professionals to develop and implement effective interventions for students.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychoeducational evaluations and assessments to determine students learning, behavioral, and emotional needs.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers, parents, and administrators.
- Provide individual and group counseling to students to support emotional, social, and behavioral growth.
- Offer crisis intervention and support for students in need.
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to develop strategies that promote positive student development.
- Promote a safe and supportive school environment.
- Stay current on best practices and research in school psychology and mental health.
- Master's or Specialist degree in School Psychology (Doctoral degree is a plus).
- Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) certification as a School Psychologist.
- Previous experience in a school setting is preferred, but not required.
- Strong knowledge of assessment tools and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators, families, and students.
