As an SLP, you will work with studentsto assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. Responsibilities
- Assess and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans (IEPs) tailored to students needs.
- Provide direct therapy services to students, both individually and in groups.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students communication goals.
- Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting therapy as necessary.
- Provide guidance and support to teachers regarding speech and language interventions in the classroom.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student educational plans.
- Educate staff and parents on speech-language strategies and tools for use at school and home.
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid NYSpeech-Language Pathology license and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).
- Preferredschool-based experience or pediatric experience.
- Strong understanding of child development and speech-language pathology best practices.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well with a diverse population of students, teachers, and parents.
