Job Description :
Soliant islooking for a dedicated and passionate Social Worker to join our team at the middle school level. This position is essential in providing support for students and the school munity after the school has been without social worker support for several years. The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and able to collaborate effectively with counselors, school psychologists, and other staff to address conflict, provide mental health support, and build a positive and supportive environment for students.
As the Social Worker, you will be responsible for de-escalating conflicts, mediating disputes, and providing targeted interventions for both general education and Special Day Class (SDC) students. This is a crucial role in supporting students mental health and social-emotional needs while working with a collaborative team to strengthen the overall school climate.
Key Responsibilities :
- Work closely with counselors to de-escalate student conflicts, mediate disputes, and manage student behavior.
- Provide small group support for students needing social-emotional development and guidance.
- Collaborate with the counseling team to deliver three-tiered interventions (universal, targeted, and intensive) for students with varying needs.
- Conduct threat assessments and support the safety of the school environment.
- Provide mental health support to students, including crisis intervention and short-term counseling as needed.
- Assist students and families in accessing outside resources for mental health, housing, and other social services.
- Collaborate with two counselors and two school psychologists to implement a cohesive plan of support for students.
- Help identify and address conflict within both general education and occasional SDC student groups.
- Participate in meetings and school events aimed at improving student well-being and school culture.
