Job Details
- Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, in collaboration with parents, teachers, and support staff.
- Differentiating instruction to meet the unique learning styles and abilities of each student.
- Providing direct instruction in core academic subjects, social skills, and life skills, as appropriate for each student's needs.
- Utilizing a variety of teaching strategies, assistive technologies, and accommodations to support student learning and engagement.
- Monitoring student progress, collecting data, and regularly assessing student achievement to inform instructional planning and intervention strategies.
- Collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Communicating effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, goals, and strategies for support.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including but not limited to learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorder, and intellectual disabilities.
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and community partners.
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to meeting the individual needs of each student.
- Flexibility and adaptability in response to the changing needs of students and the school community.
- Experience with assessment tools and data-driven instruction preferred.
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education
